The traffic signals at the old market circle, Margao are non-functional for many days, causing confusion and anxiety to the motorists as well as the pedestrians wanting to cross the road.
This area is one of the busiest traffic inter-sections with traffic converging from all sides, north, south, east and west bound, making it a highly vulnerable spot for accidents and fatalities.

Just some days back a 43 years old scooterist lost his life at this junction when he got hit by a speeding car. This accident would not have happened if the signals were in working condition and/or traffic police were in place to regulate the traffic. The authorities should get these signal lights working on a war footing before more mishaps and casualties take place.
