PONDA: The locals have demanded strict action against heavy vehicles plying on national highway for taking shortcut through the internal narrow road of Nagzar Curti to reach their destinations.
One such truck was stuck on the internal narrow road due to which neither locals were able to cross the road nor their vehicles could be brought to the their houses.
According to locals, the trucks transporting goods to Ponda use this shortcut road. Further, there is a primary school by the side of the narrow road which poses threat to students.
“These vehicles, when stuck, block our road for long hours as there is no sufficient space,” a local said.
He said that since the road is narrow, heavy vehicles cannot negotiate at the sharp turns.
