CALANGUTE: Calangute Association, Kasargod-Kerala, Goa United Sports Academy A (GUSA), ABC Arambol moved into the semi-finals of Barefoot Beach Football tournament organized by TransStadia at Calangute beach, here Thursday.

Goa United A got the better of Piedade Youth Association Divar 2-1. Evaristo and Ashley scored for the winners while Ramos pulled one back for Divar.
Kesargod-Kerala trounced FC Neura 3-1. Sharafuddin scored a brace. Irish was the other scorer. Atish netted for Neura.
Crowd favourites Calangute Association had to sweat it out against JMJ Boys of Marra prevailing by a solitary goal scored by Murren while ABC Arambol trounced Goa Velha Sports Club 4-1 in a one-sided match.
Goa United Sports Academy A will take on ABC Arambol while Calangute Association will lock horns with Kesargod-Kerala in the semi-finals on February 10 at 4 p.m.
Earlier, Santa Cruz Cavelossim lost 2-3 to Goa United (A) to enter the quarter-finals. Samson Fernandes put Santa Cruz Cavelossim ahead and Goa United’s Ashley Lobo equalized. Samson regained the lead but Goa United (A) dominated with Avresto Fernandes and Ashley Lobo being the scorers.
JMJ pipped Parish Y Nuvem 1-0 in another pre-quarterfinal. Johan Fernandes scored in the first half.
Piedade Youth Association beat Goa United (B) 1-0 with Agnelo D’souza scoring the match-winner.
Penha de Franca lost to FC Neura via the penalty shoot out 3-4. Penha de Franca led 2-0 with Mickey Fernandes being the scorer. But a sudden comeback by Neura changed the complexion. With two back-to-back goals by Suraj Hadkonkar and Sameer Bhomkar, Neura took everyone by surprise and the match ended in a tie.
Mickey Fernandes from Penha de France and Suraj Hadkonkar from Neura took the first shots successfully for their teams. The second shot for Penha de France was missed by Melvyn Fernandes and Neura cashed in on this advantage with a clean goal by Sameer Bhomkar.
Piedade Youth Association beat Goa United Sports Academy B 1-0, Kesargod-Kerala beat Pilerne SC 4-3, Calangute Association beat Sporting Club de Goa A 2-1, ABC Arambol beat Sporting Club de Goa B 1-0 and Goa Velha SC beat S. M. Taleigao 1-0.
