Goa Rape Case: Accused Arrested After High Court Transfers Probe to North Goa Women’s Police

Following directions from the High Court, the investigation into a rape case involving a 15-year-old girl who became pregnant and later gave birth has been transferred from Anjuna Police to the North Goa Women’s Police.

Acting on the court’s directive, the police on Tuesday arrested the accused youth and produced him before the court. The court remanded the accused to two days of police custody to facilitate further investigation.

The investigating team has also initiated the process of collecting DNA samples for forensic analysis, which is expected to play a crucial role in the case.
