In a major effort to streamline international travel and boost foreign tourism, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has notified 11 additional international entry points for foreign nationals travelling on electronic visas (e-visas). The newly added facilities include nine land ports and two international airports, expanding the total count of e-visa accessible ports across India from 77 to 88.
According to an official statement issued by the MHA on Monday, the new network comprises 37 airports, 38 seaports, and 13 land ports. The expanded framework aims to simplify immigration procedures for legitimate foreign visitors while strengthening internal security through unified digital check-posts under the Immigration and Foreigners Act framework.
