PANJIM: Nearly a year after the incident, Agassaim police filed an indicted against pop singer Remo Fernandes under the Goa Children’s Act for allegedly having verbally abused an accident victim at Goa Medical College and Hospital in December 2015.
“Remo was booked under Section 8 read with 2 (m) of Goa Children’s Act. We have indicted the case before the Children’s Court,” Police Inspector Uday Parab said.
Remo has been accused of verbally abusing a 17-year-old at the GMC where she was undergoing treatment after being hit by a car allegedly driven by Remo’s son Jonah Fernandes near Badgeshwar Temple in Mapusa on December 1, 2015.
The singer allegedly entered ward number 5 of the GMC during the afternoon and got into an altercation with the girl and her family during which he used abusive words. Agassaim police had summoned him for questioning during the investigation.
Remo had denied the allegations stating that the two cases against him and his son were to malign their image.
