Halwai dissatisfied with ACB progress in Garg complaint

PANJIM:
Businessman Munnalal Halwai, who has accused Inspector General of Police B D
Garg of accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh to register a FIR, has expressed his dissatisfaction
in Anti Corruption Branch (ACB) for having failed to act on the complaint.

Addressing
the media, Halwai sid he has been forced to approach and file a petition before
the Special Court, in accordance of section 156(3) of the CrPC and further
stated that he has appealed to the Chief Secretary to place Garg under
suspension.

Halwai
has also sought protection under section 24 of Prevention of Corruption Act of
1988, which gives the bribe giver immunity from being prosecuted.
