MARGAO: Margao police on Saturday arrested Birju Jacob Shani, 32, resident of Margao, for an attempted house break-in on December 18. Birju was arrested soon after he was discharged from Hospicio hospital where he was nursing his injuries suffered at the hands of people who thrashed him during the break-in attempt.
Shani along with Vijay Yadav, 34, of Uttar Pradesh, were caught red handed while attempting to enter the house of Liyakhat Ali Sheik of Shirvodem-Navelim.
Yadav, who was also thrashed, is said to be still undergoing treatment at Hospicio. Police said he too will be arrested after his discharge.
