Speaking at a meeting at the Goa Medical College (GMC), the minister said there was a need to keep the ODPs outside the Regional Plan as these areas were urban areas that are in need of development.
“The ODPs need a different outlook all together and they can’t be clubbed with the RP because these areas need bigger roads and building heights. Builders are one of the stakeholders here and without them we cannot build,” he said.
He added that while many were concerned with the plan itself, it was impossible to keep builders out of it and that the entire process was a transparent one where people as well as NGOs were able to place their suggestions and concerns to the concerned authority.
