CURCHOREM: The 20 day football coaching camp organised by Adivasi Sangatna, Quepem in co-ordination with Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs was concluded, at SAG ground, Quepem, recently.
The camp was conducted at six places including Bethmordi, Tilamol, Goval, Devsa, Ambaulim and Deao in Quepem taluka where around 180 students participated.
The closing ceremony was marked with a 1500 cross country race wherein 18 youth were selected and Alister Menezes secured the first place with Rs 1, 000 cash prize while Movin Carvalho and Raylon Cardozo awarded second and third prize with Rs 700 and Rs 500 respectively.
Later, Devossa won the football match defeating Copelabhat Deao 2-0 where the winners were awarded Rs 2,000 while the runners up received Rs 1,000.
Assistant Director of Sports John Fernandes was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of Xeldem panch members Caitan Lima, Lorencina, Ambaulim panch member Jacinta Dias and executive members of the Sangatna
