MAPUSA: Sporting Clube de Goa registered an emphatic 7-0 victory over Churchill Brothers in a round 5 match of the AIFF U-18 Youth League played at Duler Stadium, here, on Sunday.
Sporting opened their account under fortuitous circumstances as Churchill defender Didymus Antao fumbled to net in an own goal in the 13th minute. In the 45th minute, Aman broke through and fed the ball to Irfan Yadwad who found the net to give Sporting a two goal cushion at the break.
Sporting were 3-0 up in the 57th minute when Lloyd Mascarenhas finished off an Aman Govekar cross. Five minutes later Richard Cardoz made it 4-0. Lloyd scored the fifth with a blistering shot from top of the box. Stendly then needled a through pass for Richard to complete his brace and his team’s 6th goal, in the 69th minute.
Stendly rounded off the tally by putting his name on the score sheet in the 74th minute.
