VASCO: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) State President Jose Philip D’Souza slammed BJP State President Sadanand Shet Tanavade for taking jibe at him by suggesting D’Souza to contest for municipal elections.
The NCP leader termed Tanavade’s behaviour as ungrateful considering he was instrumental in making Manohar Parrikar the Chief Minister in the past.
Speaking to the media persons, D’Souza in his comments said, “The people of Vasco are with me and therefore I got elected in 1999 and later in 2007. In both terms I also remained a minister.”
Meanwhile, NCP Goa Youth Leader Preetam Naik also condemned the statements of BJP State president. Naik said, “Before making any loose comments against any leader one must not forget his past achievements. D’Souza was two times MLA and a revenue minister and has also been elected as a councillor in the past.”
Naik further said that Tanavade should actually contest from one constituency and get himself elected instead of suggesting other names.
