PANJIM: A day after MGP filed a disqualification petition again Subhash Shirodkar and Dayanand Sopte in the High Court of Bombay at Goa, the BJP core committee leaders met the regional outfit leaders to break the deadlock.
MGP president Pandurang (Deepak) Dhavalikar told Herald that the BJP core committee State president Vinay Tendulkar, Sadanand Shet Tanawade and Sanjiv Desai met him at PWD Minister Ramkrishna (Sudin) Dhavalikars residence in Altinho. “They assured us to resolve all the pending issues within 20 days,” he said.
Asked what the pending issues are, he said, “There are plenty of them be it mining, collapse of administration, leadership, fish or sand mining. All these issues need urgent action.”
On whether MGPs petition was discussed, he said, “Not at all. The petition is not against any political party. We want these frequent defections to stop as it causes problems for people besides loss to the exchequer.”
Dhavalikar said other issues like that of Tourism Minister Manohar Azgaonkar and Dipak Pauskar were discussed and they were assured these would be resolved.
