As I thank Herald for their untiring efforts to fight crime against women, the latest case of rape of three women in a single family has again exposed the cruel, inhuman and stone hearted attitudes of the Goa Police led by none other than the Home Minister Manohar Parrikar and that too in his hometown Mapusa.
Goa is becoming increasingly unsafe as those in charge of protecting us are themselves promoting crime mainly by their inaction and also not following the instructions of the DGP T N Mohan that “We need to be sympathetic towards children, senior citizens and women. Goa police has to exhibit zero tolerance as far as crimes against women are concerned. Under no circumstances a complaint from any woman visiting police station should be refused on the issue of jurisdiction.” (Herald, September 2 edition)
If our police force cannot protect our own citizens then why do our ministers and their cohorts spend crores of public money to go to foreign countries to woo their women to visit Goa?
