CANACONA: Recently, a driver of a fish carrying insulated truck, unable to negotiate a sharp turn while descending the Karmalghat slope towards Canacona lost control over his vehicle eventually hitting a road side tree on Wednesday night. Both the driver and cleaner of the ill-fated truck luckily escaped with bruises and minor injuries.
The ill-fated insulated truck (KA-20-C-7417) was carrying fish from Goa to a fish meal plant in Karnataka. While negotiating a sharp turn while descending the Karmalghat slope the driver lost control over his vehicle and dashed against a road side tree. The wind shield of the truck was shattered and the cabin also got damaged. However, both the driver and the cleaner escaped with minor injuries and bruises.
The signboards existing at present are not sufficient.
The concerned authorities should put additional signboards or indications at these curves to enable the motorists to take caution while driving on these roads. Hope prompt action is taken on this to avoid such accidents in the future.
