Loyola High School emerge victorious

SERAULIM: Loyola High School had to sweat it out to beat Perpetual Convent 4-2 via the tie-breaker  to clinch the Sir Jawaharlal Da Costa memorial inter-school U-16 – a-side football tournament, organised by United Sports Club of Seraulim in collaboration with The Base Goa at The Base Goa – Seraulim

During regular time both teams were levelled 2-2. Loyola HS opened the account through Ashnoy off a pass from Keith in the fifth minute. It was then in the 19th minute, Alden’s shot off a direct free kick which helped Loyola take a 2-0 lead 

Post resumption, Perpetual Succour tried their best to equalise and  succeeded  in scoring in the 34 minute when Hayston found the net. Perpetual scored once again through Hayston off a free-kick the 34th  minute. In the tie-breaker, Loyola proved better shooters scoring through Keith and Nathan.

Capt Venzy Viegas, MLA Benaulim constituency was the chief guest and gave away the prizes in the presence of  Fr Benjamin Sacramafilia, Parish Priest, Capt. Nitin Dhond, Vernon Pinto and other dignitaries.
