NAGOA-VERNA: Raia Sporting Club thrashed Guirim Youth Cultural SC 5-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the Nagoa Village Panchayat Cup organised by PAX of Nagoa SC, at Nagoa Village panchayat ground, on Saturday.
Guirim SC opened the score-line through Micheal Dias’ arrow bound shot in the 14th minute but the joy was short-lived as Raia’s Eldon Colaco equalised with a placement shot in the 26th minute.
In the second half, Guirim’s Schmaltz Magalhaes doubled the lead with a placement shot in the 40th minute. Within six minutes, Raia SC levelled terms through Sheehan Fernandes to make it 2-2.
It was Raia Sports Lloyd Cardozo who scored a hat-trick in the 55, 58, 62nd minutes to complete the rout.
Raia SC will now meet Curtorim Gymkhana in the quarter-finals on April 12.
