It is infuriating to see the AIMIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi politicizing the death penalty meted out to Yakub Memon. Owaisi should understand that Indian courts do not consider one’s religion while pronouncing the verdict. The opinion by Owaisi is further a matter of great concern, as his comment will certainly be misused by right-wing elements to insinuate that the Muslims support Memon’s dastardly acts. Owaisi’s brother had earlier delivered an infamous hate speech, and now the elder Owaisi too seems to be passionate about fanning communal passions.
