PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on Friday said that government has already issued an order for constructing a prayer house outside the SGPDA market complex and there was no need to politicize the issue.
Parrikar slammed certain South Goa politicians for trying to make an issue out of the incident stating that ‘it’s time for them (politicians) to take sanyas’, while speaking at a workshop on ‘leadership clinic’ organized by Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK).
“There is no need to make political issue,” he said. South Goa legislators such as Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and Vijay Sardessai had accused the government for its failure to resolve the issue.
Following the incident, Chief Minister had announced that henceforth, government will ensure that whenever it comes out with a project, a special space is provided for construction of religious structures of all communities.
