Panaji: Twelve riders from Goa have successfully completed a challenging 2,600-km Manali-Ladakh circuit, conquering some of the most demanding high-altitude roads in the Himalayas, including the world’s highest motorable pass, Umling La at 19,024 feet.
The expedition team comprised Rohan Kumarpant, Mahamed Ashif, Veldroy Fernandes, Samison Fernandes, Truman Fernandes, Rahul Sharma, Babani Kulekar, Smita Kumarpant, Samantha D’Souza, Arvind Patil, Truptesh Patekar and Nigel Fernandes.

The extensive journey took the riders through some of Ladakh’s most spectacular and challenging landscapes, including the Atal Tunnel, Jispa Valley, Baralacha Pass, Khardung La, Nubra Valley, Pangong Tso, Shyok Valley, Rezang La, Koyul, Kargil, Padum and Leh, along with the demanding climb to Umling La.
Throughout the expedition, the riders faced steep and rugged Himalayan terrain, extreme altitude and unpredictable weather conditions. Their successful completion of the circuit reflected considerable determination, resilience and careful planning.
The achievement marks a significant milestone for adventure and travel enthusiasts from Goa, demonstrating the growing spirit of high-altitude exploration among Goan riders and inspiring others to take on challenging journeys beyond the state.
