Reginaldo appeals to seamen for support

PANJIM: Congress candidate Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco today appealed to the Goa Seamen Association on India (GSAI, GOA) to support him in the upcoming polls. Lourenco said that the BJP is using their divide and rule politics to split the secular vote of the state and thus dishing out schemes that are marginal as compared to the amount of scams and U-Turns that the government is taking in the background. Lourenco met with members of the GSAI committee who said that the decision to support the BJP was not a unanimous one as not all members were taken into confidence.

Former GSAI Secretary Michael Benny said that he along with many other members of the GSAI, are not in agreement with the decision taken by the President of GSAI and said they will firmly support Reginaldo in the upcoming polls.
Reginaldo said that the BJP is known for creating a division among people and this is exemplified by the difference of opinion among the member of the GSAI. He said that the BJP is not committed to the minorities of the state as is highlighted by their ‘Hindutva’ agenda in their manifesto. Reginaldo thus urged all the Seamen of the state, not to be misled by the stand of such leaders, but to stay united and show these leaders, that they cannot be pressurized and will vote for a worthy, secular and people’s candidate this election.
