Irani calls on South Goa voters to help bring BJP rule at the Centre

MARGAO: BJP Goa observer Smriti Irani has appealed to voters from south Goa to help bring BJP rule at the Centre in order to facilitate the Parrikar-led government to expedite the pace of development in Goa.

MARGAO: BJP Goa observer Smriti Irani has appealed to voters from south Goa to help bring BJP rule at the Centre in order to facilitate the Parrikar-led government to expedite the pace of development in Goa.
Addressing a booth-level get together at Cuncolim, Fatorpa and Quepem segments, Irani praised the state government performance despite a ban on mining activities in the State by the Centre. She criticized the Congress-led UPA government for doing nothing for the poor. The meetings were also addressed by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, State president Vinay Tendulkar, Sanguem MLA Subhash Phaldesai and Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik.
In his address, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar stated that the BJP government in the state has implemented various social schemes despite economic constraints. He exuded confidence that the state will get special financial package to overcome the crisis created by ban on mining in the event the Modi government comes to power at the Centre.
Partycandidate, Adv Narendra Sawaikar promised to take up the issue of dual citizenship and to restart mining activities, while reiterating the party stand on giving special status for Goa. 
The meetings were attended by hundreds of BJP workers and supporters.
