Motorists slip on oil spill at Mapusa

A number of motorists sustained minor injuries when their two-wheelers skidded due to an oil spill from a vehicle near the taxi stand at Mapusa on Saturday morning.
On hearing the news, a team of Shiv Sena members led by Philip D’Souza along with the help of taxi and rickshaw operators erected barricades at the site and diverted vehicles from the accident prone zone.
Later, a Mapusa police team went to the spot and took charge of the situation.
A fire brigade was the last to reach the site and covered the oily portion of the road with sand. The barricades were then removed by the Police and road was cleared for traffic.
