Both the teams displayed attacking football and came close to scoring on numerous occasions. However, Loyola HS were able to maintain their lead till the end, which saw them clinching the trophy.
Nafiz Sayyed from Guardian Angel High School was adjudged the player of the tournament while Maldinho Rodrigues (Loyola HS), Ryan Pereira (O.L Perpetual HS, Cortalim) and Shane Estibeiro (Fr Agnel MHS, Verna) won the best defender, midfielder and forward respectively.
Around 16 schools and over 300 students from all over Goa participated in the tournament.
Alberto Colaco, General Secretary of Dempo Sports Club inaugurated the tournament. He was accompanied by Fr Andrew Silveira, principal of Fr. Agnel Higher Secondary and Oswin Goveias.
Chief guest Deputy Director DYSA Juliana Colaco gave away the prizes to the winners and Francisca Rodrigues, wife of late Maccabeus Rodrigues gave the runners-up trophy.
Also present on the occasion were Fr. Fredrick Rodrigues, principal of Fr. Agnel Degree College; Fr. Richard Crasto, headmaster of Fr. Agnel School, Welvin Menezes, GFA executive committee member; Fr. Paixao Gonsalves, Fr. Luciano Falcao, headmistress of St. Michaels Convent (Vagator) Sr. Liberata Fernandes and coaches of Dempo Mauricio Afonso and Camilo Gonsalves.
