The Electricity Department was crowned champions of the Goa State Civil Services Football Tournament 2026-27 after registering a convincing 2-0 victory over the Water Resources Department in the final played at the Santacruz Football Ground.
The champions opened the scoring in the first half when Yeshwant More successfully converted a penalty kick to give the Electricity Department a 1-0 lead. Rajat Naik doubled the advantage in the second half, sealing a comfortable win and the tournament title.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Director of Sports & Youth Affairs Dr. Ajay R. Gaude as the chief guest. He was joined by Officiating Assistant Physical Education Officer (APEO) Prakash Satarkar, State Sports Organiser Anant Sawal and Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) coaches.
Organised by the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of Goa, under the aegis of the Central Civil Services Cultural & Sports Board, the tournament featured participation from 57 teams representing various government departments across the state.
The event witnessed spirited competition and showcased sportsmanship among government employees, with the Electricity Department emerging as the overall champions after an impressive campaign.
