VALPOI: Heavy rain, with gusty winds for the past three days in Sattari taluka resulted in a landslide in the wee hours of Friday morning near Jambliche Temb at Chorla Ghat. Another landslide was also reported at around 8 am that resulted in a massive traffic jam.
The twin landslides kept the road closed for nearly the whole day.
Government officials including the Valpoi Mamlatdar, PWD official and Fire Brigade personnel and police constables reached the spot and had the road cleared.
Valpoi fire personnel have been kept on their toes for the past two days and locals believe that the continuous heavy rains at Chorla Ghat could result in another landslide on Saturday.
