PANJIM: Goa Police on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a block-chain network company, which will allow police to digitise all their documents and to go complete paperless in days to come.

The MoU has been signed with 5ire, one of India’s leading startup in block-chain network. Superintendent of Police Crime Branch NidhinValsan and Dr Pratik Gauri, founder and CEO, 5ire signed the MoU, according to which Goa will be first State where its police department will go paperless.
Addressing mediapersons, SP Valsan said that block-chain technology will help in providing better policing services to the citizens.
“In the first phase, the aim is to make all our documents digitised. The ultimate aim is to make all police stations across State paperless,” he said.
He said that the MoU will help streamline procedures that reflect all events in greater detail for all stakeholders.
The blockchain-based smart policing solutions by 5ire can record all official activities accurately, allowing police to help the citizens with traceability to their records and evidence.
“5ire’s solution of smart policing for Goa Police is one of the several solutions in India that can be deployed on a public sector scale in a more effective manner than the solutions that are currently available”, said Dr Pratik Gauri, 5ire’s CEO and founder.
