PANJIM: Sridora Caculo College Mapusa, defeated MES College, Zuarinagar by 29 runs in the final to become the Goa city champions in Red Bull Campus Cricket.
Sridora Caculo College Mapusa will now represent Goa and face off against six other cities in the zonal finals. Top two teams from each zone will then compete in the National finals, where the teams will play in the knock-out rounds of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final respectively. The National winner will then represent India in the Red Bull Campus Cricket World Series Championship 2017.
In the state final, batting first Sridora College scored 131 for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
In reply MES College were restricted to 102 for 7 in 20 overs.
Deepraj Gaonkar scored 33 runs off 27 balls while Vaibhav Govekar took brilliant 4 wickets in 4 overs for the winners.

Earlier, Sridora Caculo College defeated BITS Pilani while MES College got the better of Parvatibai Chowgule College in closely contested semi-finals.
