FATORDA: Tarvalem Sports Club defeated Sunday Champs of Mapusa by 8 wickets to emerge champions in the all-Goa leather ball T-20 cricket tournament organised by Al-Raza Sports and Cultural Society, at SAG practice ground, Fatorda, recently.
Sunday Champs batted first and scored 113 runs in 19 overs. In reply, Tarvalem Sports Club easily chased the target in 14 overs with 8 wickets in hand.
The winners Tarvalem SC were awarded Rs 55,555 and trophy while Sunday Champs bagged Rs 33,333 plus trophy. Town and Country Planning Minister Vijay Sardesai was the chief and handed over the prizes.
Score in brief: Sunday Champs, 113 all out in 19 overs (Saurabh Bandekar 44, Ninad Pawaskar 32, Rahul Keny 13 runs. Suyash Prabhudesai 3-14, Sandesh Prabhudesai 2-14, Somesh Prabhudesai 1-14) lost to Tarvalem Sports Club, 114 for 2 in 14 overs (Ishan Gadekar 37, Aditya Suryavanshi 39, Suyash Prabhudesai 20 not out runs. Ninad Pawaskar 1-20, Harshad Gadekar 1-33).
