Dempo too good for Goa Velha

Dempo Sports Club recorded a 7-1 victory over Goa Velha Sports Club in Taca Goa football at Duler stadium, here on Monday. The score was 3-1 at the lemon break.
Super sub Jorex Fernandes scored a brace for Dempo in the second half to finish Dempo’s campaign on a high.
Dempo played good football which allowed them to create many chances in front of the rival goal. Goa Velha turned up with only 11 men today, not for the first time in this tournament. Their goalkeeper Valerio Vaz was a stand- in for their usual custodian Soma Korgaonkar. Valerio, was booked by the referee for not wearing shin pads in the second half. He was also playing without gloves.
Dempo raced into the lead through Jeovito Fernandes, who clinically dispatched the ball from the right hand side in the 6th minute.
Joshua Vaz doubled the lead for Dempo after converting a penalty in the 23rd minute.
Three minutes later Blade Haldankar scored for Goa Velha after neatly chipping the ball over Dempo custodian Jonathan Faleiro.
In the 39th Romeo Fernandes swung in a corner from the right. Myron Fernandes shot unto the post, Myron made no mistake with the reboud.
In the 60th minute, Jorex Fernandes scored within seconds of coming on as a sub. He received a pass from a free kick and rounded the keeper to finish.
Jorex scored his second goal in the 76th minute after intercepting the ball from Goa Velha defender Joyner Lourenco.
Welington Fernandes finished off a great passing move from Dempo on the right to tap home from close range in the 82nd minute.
Dempo captain Shallum Pires finished the 7-1 rout scoring in the second minute of injury time.
The result means that Dempo finished the tournament on 10 points. Sesa Football Academy (Jrs) have 11 points.
The First Division Taca Goa U-20 tournament will be decided on Tuesday. Salgaocar Sports Club currently on 10 points and Sporting Clube de Goa on 9 points will play at Duler. Vasco Sports Club are also in contention with 9 points and they take on Musli Power Churchill Brothers at Tilak.
