FATORDA: India Coach Nicolai Adam blamed ‘poor decision making by team’ cost them the match against UAE after being up 2-1 at the half time, on Thursday.
India led 2-1 at the break after Boris Singh gave the Blues lead in the 36th minute after UAE’s Manea cancelled Sanjeev Stalin’s early goal.
“In football, one of the problem is decision making. It was the team’s poor decisions making that cost us the match,” said dejected Nicoalai Adam during the post match conference.
India were exceptionally well in the first half, but their performance gradually dropped in the second half that saw the visitors level terms and net the match winner. However the German coach went on to defend the team and said, “Honestly our players had lot of energy. We all have seen good first half of my team and pretty bad second half,” he said.
Nicolai went on to congratulate the opponents for the win and their style of play.
“Good luck for them. They played their style of football. But we will not play with long balls and we will stick to our game plan,” he added defending his tactics against the one used by the UAE in the second half.
When asked about the late substitutions made and game changers on the bench, Nicolai said that his team had good game changers which worked earlier during the friendlies but unfortunately didn’t work today.
