MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have arrested one tuition teacher Sanjay Hirlekar (47) for allegedly sexually assaulting a seven-year-old girl, on Tuesday.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Saturday night (September 18) between 8.15 pm and 9.45 pm. Mother of the minor victim lodged a complaint at the Mapusa Police Station against the alleged tuition teacher.

The mother in the complaint stated that the alleged accused person use to provide tuition classes to the students by visiting their houses and from past five to six days, he has been visiting the victim’s house to give her tuitions. On Saturday during the class when only the victim and teacher were present in one room of the flat, the accused person allegedly sexually assaulted the minor victim and threatened her with dire consequences.
On Sunday, before the accused tuition teacher could come to give tutorials, the minor victim girl had already narrated the incident to the parents. When the tuition teacher reached at the victim’s house, the parents questioned the teacher and later lodged a police complaint at the Mapusa Police Station,
The alleged accused is placed under arrest and the police are further investigating the case.
