MAPUSA: Candolim Sports Club registered a hard fought 7-6 win via the tie-breaker over Xetrapal Sports Club in the Goa Hotels Soccer organised by Chapora YS, at Chapora YS ground, on Saturday.
Xetrapal went into the breather with a two-goal cushion with Kanaya Govekar scoring in the 21st minute while Aniket Naik scored an own goal.
On crossing over, Candolim came out with renewed ideas and pumped in two goals through Simon Fernandes and Aniket Naik.
With the match ending in a 2-2 draw the penalty shootout was implemented where for Candolim side Nehal Naik, Simon Fernandes, Harish Bakar, Nikhil Naik and Jose Fernandes scored on target while Sagar Bhatkande, Gopal Shirodkar, Kanaya Govekar and Ramnath Dabholkar scored for Xetrapal SC.
