MARGAO: Representatives of the city’s Muslim community and the Shri Pathmeda Godam Mahathirt, Rajasthan, have amicably sorted out the procession routes of Id-Milad and Shri Pathmeda Godam Mahathirt in the city here on January 25.

Margao DySP Mohan Naik called representatives of both the city’s Muslim community and the Shri Pathmeda Godam Mahathirt before the District Collector, N D Agrawal, for discussions to avert any clash in the timings and routes of their processions.

After much discussion the Collector said the Rajasthan group will start the procession from the Margao Municipal garden near SBI branch, which will culminate at Ravindra Bhavan via Vithal Mandir. He said no procession will be permitted on the Abade Faria road on that day.

Replying to a question, he said the Muslim procession will start from the Masjid as usual, only after the procession of the Rajasthani religious group commences between 2 pm and 2.30 pm.
