CALANGUTE: Penha de Franca defeated Arpora Sporting Club 2-0 to move into the quarter-finals of St Anthony’s Cup football organized by St Anthony’s Sports Club, Marna at church ground, Siolim, Thursday.
Penha forged ahead in the 10th minute through Siddesh. Down by a goal, Arpora forwards tried hard to restore parity but the Penha defence came to their side’s rescue and kept their slate clean.
Milind doubled the lead in the 45th minute. Later, he was declared man-of-the-match.
