CANACONA: A Galgibaga resident who was hit by an oncoming car while he was standing beside his parked two-wheeler on Monday succumbed to head injuries on Friday while being treated at Goa Medical College.
Canacona police have registered an offence under Section 279, 337, 304-A of IPC against the driver of the car involved in the mishap for rash and negligence while driving, causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others and causing death of the victim by driving in rash or negligent manner not amounting to culpable homicide.
Sources informed that Sajan Namshikar, 56, while proceeding to his house in Galgibaga had stopped by the roadside when a car coming on the opposite direction hit him causing head injuries to him while his 14 year old son also sustained minor injuries.
He was taken from Canacona Health Centre to Hospicio hospital on the same day from where he was referred to GMC, Bambolim.
