Draftsman Gonsalves re-arrested

PANJIM: Suspended Mines department draftsman Robert Gonsalves was on Wednesday re-arrested by the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team in connection with the illegal mining.

PANJIM: Suspended Mines department draftsman Robert Gonsalves was on Wednesday re-arrested by the Crime Branch Special Investigation Team in connection with the illegal mining. 
Gonsalves, who was already behind bars for masterminding the killing of a real estate dealer Hasan Khan last year, was summoned by the SIT through a local court for questioning and arrested subsequently. 
He was among more than six mines officers suspended following their role in the multi-billion rupees mining scam which was exposed by the Justice M B Shah Commission report. 
Before his arrest in the murder case, Gonsalves was also running a real estate business in Khan’s name.
He had recently started a new project comprising 36 flats at Canca in Mapusa and collected around Rs 1.30 crore from around seven customers as token money for the flats.
The total number of arrested has risen to three with the first being Assistant Manager (Operations) of Frost International Limited Subroto Barok and later mining trader Prashant Sahoo, who is presently on bail in impersonation case while his anticipatory bail in the illegal mining case will be heard shortly.
