NAGOA: Salgaocar Football Club registered a comprehensive 3-0 win over Panjim Footballers in the GFA Goa Professional League match played at Nagoa ground, on Saturday.
Saeesh Madan (35’), Godfrey Mascarenhas (71’) and Stephen Satarkar (90+ 1) were the goal scorers for the Green Brigades.

With the teams starting the match on a cautious note, the initial stages saw both sides restricted to a midfield duel. Salgaocar FC were given a chance to take the lead at the half hour mark when, Panjim Footballers’ player handled the ball in the box and the referee awarded straight to the spot. Mascarenhas, on seeing the keeper out of position, took a long shot thta dipped above the keeper, to make it 2-0. Salgaocar FC’s Flagan Rodrigues and Stephen Joshant, who came in place of injured Daniel Gomes gave a good account of themselves in the defence. Salgaocar FC made it 3-0 in injury time when Selwyn Miranda played a through ball to Stephen Satarkar who fired the ball first-time into the back of the net to make it 3-0.
