PANJIM: The draft manifesto for the 2022 Assembly elections finalised by the Congress party has focussed on five key points.

Congress Manifesto Committee Chairman and former minister Ramakant Khalap said, “Various sections of Goans from trade, industry, students and women gave their opinion. We prepared draft of the manifesto after having seven-eight consultations with various stakeholders.”’
“The key points of the manifesto are Swabhimani Goenkar, Swayam Nirbhar Goemkar, Surakshit Goemkar, Healthy Goemkar and Self Governance,” he said.
Congress Manifesto Committee Co-Convenor Elvis Gomes said that a lot of efforts have been taken while preparing the manifesto.
“I am satisfied as all the suggestions given by the people have been captured,” he said.
“There are whole list of demands like three linear projects, nationalisation of rivers and 16 B of Town and Country Planning (TCP) Act. There would be annexure to it which will be called u-turn manifesto. All the government decisions which need to be reversed will fall into that,” Gomes said.
Gomes further added that a separate manifesto will highlight decisions taken by the BJP government.
Goa Pradesh Mahila Congress President Beena Naik said they incorporated the issue of providing market place to self-help groups (SHGs)so that they are self-reliant, installing cameras at public places, hostel facilities for working women, enhancement of Griha Aadhar scheme from Rs 1500 per month to Rs 3000 per month, increase in amount under Indira Gandhi Pension Scheme, establishment of GSCW at Panjim and Margao with full-time secretary and support of police personnel, vending machines at schools and colleges, public toilets, reservation of women in private sector and government sector, recruitment of more women in police personnel and pink buses for women.
