Today Goa mourns for a son of the soil. Mario Menezes first stepped on the tiatr stage as a child artiste at the age of 6 in a village tiatr at Durga Chinchinim. He joined the Amateur troupe of Joel D’ souza in 1978 and first came on the professional stage in Fr. Freddy J. da Costa’s tiatr ‘Doxea’ in 1981. Thereafter he acted for numerous well-known directors of the Konkani stage and even wrote and directed several Tiatr’s.
