MARGAO: Mae dos Pobres High School Nuvem, St Rita High School Maina, Mount Mary High School Chinchinim, Assumpta Convent High School Sarzora, Infant Jesus High School Cuncolim and Our Lady of Lourdes High School Utorda registered victories in their respective matches in Salcete Taluka under-14 inter-school football tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at Manora ground, Raia on Friday.
Mae dos Pobres HS blanked Infant Jesus High School, Cuncolim 2-0 with goals from Nigel Coutinho and Loyd Quadros.
St Rita HS trounced Auxilium High School, Benaulim 3-0 after leading 1-0 at the breather. The high light of the day was a brilliant brace by striker Steward D’Mello. Rivlen D’Souza was the other goal getter.
Mount Mary HS thrashed Shushu Vikas School, Rawanfond 7-0. Denson Fernandes struck a hat-trick. Jade Martins scored a brace while Joelin Simoes and Akshay Kenkre netted one goal each.
Assumpta Convent downed Our Lady of Carmel High School, Curtorim 2-0. Kindron Fernandes and Shansoi Carvalho scored a goal each.
Infant Jesus HS edged out Government HS, Davorlim 4-2 via the tie-breaker after the teams were locked goalless draw at the end of normal period.
Our Lady of Lourdes HS got the better Damodar English High School, 1-0. Shrikant Fernandes scored the all important goal.
