Tourists rescued at Vagator, Arambol

MAPUSA: Drishti Lifeguard rescued one male tourist at Vagator Beach and two tourists at Arambol Beach including a 12-year-old foreign national.

According to the Dhrishti sources, on Monday around 5.30 pm, lifeguard on duty at Vagator Beach spotted a male tourist venturing into the sea. Lifeguard on duty cautioned the tourist to stay away from the waterline since the sea was rough. However, the male tourist ventured into the sea. Later, the lifeguard spotted him deep in the water and called for backup. He brought him on the shore with the help of rescue board.

Since the male victim was in breathless conditions, he was initially placed in the recovery position and later shifted to nearby health care centre.

Meantime, a 12-year-old foreign national and a 35 years old lady were also rescued by lifeguards on duty in two different incidents at Arambol Beach on Monday evening.
