Goa records only 2 deaths on June 29, fresh cases 213

PANJIM: Goa on Tuesday recorded its lowest number of daily deaths. Since the outbreak of second wave of COVID-19, the Tuesday’s mortality count at two and total new cases are 213.  March this year had last seen deaths between 1to2 per day.  

Since June last year, 3,048 have succumbed to the deadly infection. The month of May alone reported close to 1500 deaths, with daily average of 44.75 per cent.  In May, the highest single day death was reported as 71.

In the two deaths reported on Tuesday, one each is recorded at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) and South Goa District Hospital. 

The State’s confirmed COVID cases as on date stood at 1, 66,449. 

The day also saw 286 patients getting cured from the infection taking total to 1,61, 160 recoveries at a rate of 96.82 per cent. The Active case tally stood at 2,241.
