MARGAO: Six fishermen, who had gone for fishing and found struggling in rough waters at Colva, were rescued by the lifeguards on Monday.
A group of six fishermen aged between 19 and two aged 24 were fishing on the coast and pulling in their nets. Due to the rough waters some were finding it tough to stay steady and got swept into the sea by the rip currents. The others went to help and also got pulled into the deep waters.
Lifesavers Dashrath Sangodkar, Punu Velip and Siddesh Gaonkar brought each of the victims back to safety.
