PANJIM: Goa Pencak Silat team won two gold and three bronze medals in 12th Senior National Pencak Silat Championship 2024-25 held at KIIT University, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, recently.
The Goa Pencak Silat team will be representing Goa in the 8th Federation Cup in Leh-Ladakh in August.

Team coach Anthony Sedley Braganza bagged two gold medals in artistic category ‘Tungal’ group (male) and solo creative category (male). Madhu Chauhan and Prajakta Bhekane won two bronze medals in Ganda artistic genre. While in Solo Creative Category (male) Gautham Ram got a bronze medal.
Earlier, in the 5th Western Regional Pencak Silat Championship 2024 held at Panchgani, Maharashtra, the Goan team had won 10 bronze and 2 silver medals.
A total of 14 silat students from the Goa team participated in this competition. Players from the States of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra,
Madhya Pradesh, Daman and Diu and Goa had participated. In the 37th National Games held in Goa last year, the Goa Pencak Silat team won a total of 16 medals for Goa, including one gold, two silver and the rest bronze medals.
