PANJIM: The campaign for the by-elections to Benaulim Zilla Panchayat and 10 wards of ten panchayats ended on Friday. The by-elections are scheduled for Sunday, June 23, with voting via ballot paper from 8 am to 5 pm. Votes will be counted on June 24.
For the Benaulim ZP by-election, four candidates are in the fray after Pradeep Verlekar, an independent candidate, withdrew his candidature.

For the panchayat by-polls, there will be straight fights in five wards, triangular battles in three wards, and two wards will witness quadrangular fights. Here are the details of the contests:
