Right-wing political commentator TG Mohandas was taken into custody from his residence in Mattancherry on Sunday in connection with alleged remarks he made in a YouTube video about a students’ protest in Delhi over the NEET paper leak, police said.
A team from the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police Station, which is investigating the case, reached Mohandas’ residence at Koovappadam near Mattancherry on Sunday evening, accompanied by personnel from the local police station.

According to police, Mohandas was present when the investigation team arrived. Officers also collected details related to his YouTube account and digital devices allegedly used to create and upload the video.
Police sources said Mohandas would be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
The case was registered following a complaint alleging that videos posted on his YouTube channel, were intended to disturb public peace and create fear and unrest among the public.
Police said the complaint relates to remarks Mohandas allegedly made while discussing a protest by students in Delhi over the NEET paper leak. In the video, he allegedly linked the protest to possible incidents of sexual violence and made derogatory remarks about women participating in the demonstration.
The investigation by the Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police Station is underway.
