7.5k students get in various colleges

PANJIM: A total of 7,500 students got into the merit list of 35 government and its aided colleges as they were admitted for the first-year degree programme for the current academic year 2021-22.
In the first round held between July and August, total 11,500, Class XII passed out students had enrolled for admission through a common platform of the Directorate of Higher Education (DHE).
DHE Deputy Director Mahadev Gawas said that in the first round of admission, a total 7,500 students have been admitted across various colleges. He said that the online admission of second and third year has also begun in all the colleges and around 15,000 students have completed their registration till date.
Around 18,085 students have cleared the Class XII Board exam this year.
Gawas said that the second round of admission in the colleges under its administrative control will begin from Wednesday, August 25 and go on till September 2.
The online admissions offer a spectrum of courses including BA, B Com, B Sc, BCA, BBA, LLB, Music, Home Science, B Sc/B Ed, BA/BE d and several others.
Applicants can apply to a maximum of three colleges across Goa based on their preferences. Gawas said that the students who did not apply in the first round of admission can register with a new application.
