Thousands turn up for Gulal festival

Thousand of devotees from all parts of the State visited the Lord Damodar temple at Zambaulim to participate in the traditional Gulal festival on Tuesday.
The sprinkling of Gulal on the palki of Lord Damodar started at about 3.30 pm.
Devotees sprinkled Gulal on each other, as a pink dust engulfed the entire area around the temple.
Heavy police force and traffic police, including most PIs from North Goa, were posted at the site to avoid any untoward incident. But, despite the presence of a heavy police force and traffic police, there was a traffic jam in the area due to lack of parking space. No untoward incident was reported at the site till late Tuesday.
