PORVORIM: Two and four wheelers parked in the spacious Porvorim police station premises were nearly submerged with rainwater on Friday.
Sources at the Porvorim police station said that the gutter by the side of the service road was blocked leading to water logging near the police station.
“Water accumulated in our compound for around two hours due to the clogging of drain outside the police station. Besides this nullah, there is no other way for the water to escape but by 4.30 pm the water had already receded,” police said.
The staff was finding it difficult to enter and exit from the police station as water was knee deep in the compound. It has been noticed that when there is incessant rain, water from the third bridge also gushes down in this direction making things worse.
A similar situation occurred last month at Porvorim police station.
